Rory Fogarty

Rory used non-invasive survey methods to examine habitat associations and the spatial distribution and abundance of fishers in the central interior of BC. When not explaining to people what a ‘fisher’ is (and that they don’t actually fish), he was out on the back of a snowmobile checking the large number of hair-snaggers placed throughout his study area. Key partners for this project included Rich Weir, Carnivore Conservation Specialist at the BC Ministry of Environment and J. Scott Yaeger, Fisher Conservation Program Lead at the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development.
