Stephanie is also working on rattlesnakes in the south Okanagan valley. Her project is centred in the White Lake Basin, site of the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory and the Biodiversity Ranch operated by the Nature Trust of British Columbia. Her work is focusing primarily on rattlesnakes, but the more overarching goal is to understand the impact of roads on populations of herpetofauna in the region. Stephanie is using telemetry and also collecting roadkill and thermal information from across the landscape.
Partners on Stephanie’s project are the National Research Council, Environment Canada, and the Nature Trust of British Columbia.
